Een naalden mapje maken

Hoe meer ik achter de naaimachine zit hoe meer naaimachine naalden ik heb verzameld. Het begon met universeel en stretch en daarna ga je verder met jeans, leer en noem zo maar op.

The more I sit behind the sewing machine, the more sewing machine needles I have collected. It started with universal and stretch and then you move on to jeans, leather and so on.

Het werd tijd om een overzichtelijk mapje te maken met al mijn naalden. Een die ik op kan hangen, maar misschien ook mee kan nemen als ik dit wil.
Ik kreeg al snel een idee toen ik midden in de nacht wakker werd en ben gewoon begonnen met naaien.

It was time to make a clear folder with all my needles. One that I can hang up, but maybe also take with me if I want to.
I quickly got an idea when I woke up in the middle of the night and just started sewing.

Benodigdheden:
* katoen 0.5m
* bias band 2m
* clear plastic ( doorzichtig tafelkleed gekocht bij action )
* jeans naalden 80
* fiberfill
* naaigaren
* schaar
* naaimachine
* (optioneel) borduurmachine

Supplies:
* cotton 0.5m
* bias tape 2m
* clear plastic (transparent tablecloth bought at action)
* jeans needles 80
* fiber fill
* sewing thread
* scissors
* sewing machine
* (optional) embroidery machine

(optioneel) Begin met het borduren van een leuk logo of leuke afbeelding. Je kan hiervoor ook iets anders gebruiken als bijvoorbeeld een leuke patch. Ik heb hiervoor een feston steek gebruikt, maar je bepaald zelf welke steek je leuk vind om een patch op te naaien

(optional) Start by embroidering a nice logo or picture. You can also use something else like a a nice patch.I used a feston stitch for this, but you decide for yourself which stitch you like to sew on a patch.

Snij of knip 2 rechthoeken van de kantoenen stof. Maak deze 32x37cm. Ik heb hier rekening gehouden met een naadwaarde van 1cm rondom.
Van het clear plastic knip/snij je 4 repen van 7x32cm.

Cut 2 rectangles from the cotton fabric. Cut them 32x37cm. I have taken into account a seam value of 1 cm all around.
Cut 4 strips of 7x32cm from the clear plastic.

Naai daarna aan de bovenkant van het clear plastic het bias band.

Then sew the bias band onto the top of the clear plastic.

Naai nu het clear plastic waar je het biasband aan hebt vast genaaid op het katoen. Ik ben begonnen met de onderste vast te stikken aan de onderkant. Daarna heb ik de volgende vast gestikt. Het stiksel loopt onder het biasband van het vakje erboven. Zo werk je naar boven toe tot je alle stroken heb vastgenaaid. (zie foto hieronder)

Now sew the clear plastic where you sewed the bias band onto the cotton.
I started by stitching the bottom one to the bottom. Then I stitched the next one. The stitching runs under the bias tape of the box above. Work your way up until you have sewn all 4 strips.(see picture below)

Nu kan je de zijkanten vast naaien.

Now you can sew the sides

Als laatste naai je de vakjes waar de naalden in moeten komen.
Helaas kan je niet in de clear plastic spelden en daarom heb ik het aangegeven door spelden te zetten op het biasband.
Zorg ervoor dat het netjes verdeeld is voor je gaat naaien. Uithalen gaat namelijk niet! Dan krijg je allemaal gaatjes.

Finally, sew the pockets where the needles should go.
Unfortunately you can't pin in the clear plastic and that's why I indicated it by putting pins on the bias tape.
Make sure it is evenly distributed before sewing. It is not possible to take out! Then you all get holes in the plastic.

Leg nu het fiberfill tegen de achterkant en leg daar tegenaan het 2e stukje katoen van 32x37cm. Speld het goed vast en naai rondom het vast.

Now place the fiberfill against the back and place the 2nd piece of cotton of 32x37cm against it. Pin it in place and sew around it.

Om de rand netjes af te werken naai je de biasband rondom het mapje.

To finish the edge neatly, sew the bias tape around the folder.

De andere kant heb ik met de hand afwerkt.

I finished the other side by hand

Naai om het mapje dicht te kunnen knopen een bias bandje van 54cm op de achterkant.
Naai het biasband dubbel en vouw het dubbel.
Meet het midden van de achterkant (bovenkant) en naai daar het lintje op vast.

Sew a 54cm bias tape to the back to secure the folder.
Sew the bias tape in half and fold it in half.
Measure the center of the back (top) and sew the ribbon onto it.

Nu heb je een super handig mapje voor al je naalden. Door het plastic kun je goed zien welke naalden je nog hebt en voor welke je eventueel nieuwe moet kopen.

Now you have a super handy folder for all your needles. The plastic makes it easy to see which needles you still have and which ones you might need to buy new ones for.
